Chad Wolf — Security Debrief Contributor
Chad Wolf blogs primarily on transportation security related issues, focusing on aviation security policy and technology.
Wolf previously served as the Assistant Administrator for Transportation Security Policy at the Transportation Security Administration. In addition to leading that office in the top job, he served as Deputy Assistant Administrator and Chief of Staff for Policy. Wolf helped stand up TSA’s Policy Office in 2002, while the agency was within the Department of Transportation and assisted with its transition to the Department of Homeland Security in 2003.
During his service at TSA, Mr. Wolf was involved in developing regulations and Security Directives to implement the agency’s programs. In this capacity he worked closely with airline executives, airport directors and trade association leaders. He regularly appeared before industry leaders whose operations are regulated by TSA to explain policies and procedures. Wolf played a key role in the reopening of Reagan National Airport to general aviation operations and in finalizing the Congressionally mandated National Strategy for Transportation Security. At TSA, Mr. Wolf was the recipient of the United States Secretary of Transportation’s September 11th Service Medal and the TSA Transportation Security Silver Medal.
Wolf is Vice President and Senior Director at Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates, a full-service government relations firm in Washington, D.C. Wolf helps lead the firm’s homeland security practice and focuses on transportation security issues. Mr. Wolf works in the development and implementation of all aspects of public policy strategies from business development to coalition building and media outreach to direct lobbying of the U.S. Congress and the Administration.
Prior to his work at TSA, Mr. Wolf spent several years working in the United States Senate as a legislative aide to Senator Chuck Hagel (R-Nebraska).
