After the Department of Homeland Security released two major announcement yesterday - one on its exercise of a waiver to advance border security and one announcing that every state but Maine has met the initial requirements for REAL ID compliance - Secretary Michael Chertoff is answering border security questions from across the blogosphere. Yesterday, he was interviewed by James Joyner from Outside the Beltway on the “feel-good” aspects of a border fence and whether privacy advocates have a basis for their criticisms of REAL ID . Elsewhere, Homeland Security Watch’s Jonah Czerwinski previews an event scheduled for this afternoon that will bring together a group of bloggers at DHS Headquarters for their second crack at a Q&A session with Chertoff.
