After the Department of Homeland Security released two major announcement yesterday - one on its exercise of a waiver to advance border security and one announcing that every state but Maine has met the initial requirements for REAL ID compliance - Secretary Michael Chertoff is answering border security questions from across the blogosphere. Yesterday, he was interviewed by James Joyner from Outside the Beltway on the “feel-good” aspects of a border fence and whether privacy advocates have a basis for their criticisms of REAL ID .
