since January, nearly 13,000 americans have died from the regular flu, and no one is freaking out about that! and in the next 7 months, nearly 23,000 more will die (from the regular flu). but no one is asking for a quarantine. and that happens every year!!!

over 100 swine-flu cases so far in america has proven that this virus is no more serious than the regular flu.

i would rather live my life with common sense and good hygiene than be quarantined to the confinements of my house, and ordered by the government to not go church or to the grocery store, all in the name of "we know what's best for you."

that being said... i won't do anything stupid, like ask someone who's infected to sneeze on me... but we've all been sick before, and we know that even though we feel like crap for a few days, i believe god has created us with a wonderful immune system that eventually recovers.

Scott, your atricle is straight forward and full of common sense. Unfortunately, companies and governments typically do not prepare for all hazards because they do not know how or until one occurs. After 30 years with IBM, I started my own company with solutions that could be applied to all hazards. Between your knowledge and connections, and my wealth of business analysis and optimization, IT and solution skills, maybe there is a way we could collaborate for our mutual benefit?
